Verification

Verification

A FurFinds tier is not a badge a business buys. It is a description of how far a place actually goes for the animals that come through the door, so a pet owner knows what to expect before they arrive.

There are three tiers.

Pets Allowed

Pets are permitted, with limited accommodations. Your animal is welcome, and that is the extent of it. This is the honest floor, and it is genuinely useful. Knowing you will not be turned away is often all a pet owner needs.

Pet-Friendly

The business actively welcomes pets and provides amenities for them. Something has been put in place on purpose, whether that is water, a designated area, outdoor seating that works for a dog, or staff who expect animals and plan for them.

Pet-Inclusive

The business goes above and beyond. Amenities, written policies, and trained staff. Pets are part of how the place runs, not an exception it tolerates.

How a business earns a tier

A business owner applies through the verification application and tells us about the business, its pet policy, and the amenities it offers.

You can attach photos or a brochure if you have something that shows what you offer. It is optional, up to three files.

A person at FurFinds reviews every application. We look at what was submitted alongside what the business says publicly about itself, and we decide which tier fits. If something does not add up, or we need more detail, we come back and ask.

If the tier we award is not the one that was applied for, we say so and we say why.

Tiers can change

A tier reflects how a business operates today. If a business changes what it offers, its tier can move up or down. If you have visited somewhere and what you found did not match its tier, tell us. That feedback is how the directory stays worth trusting.
